Junior Theater Festival

What is JTF?

The Junior Theater Festival is a festival produced by iTheatrics for children ages 8-18 held every year in Atlanta, GA at the Cobb Galleria Convention Center. It is designed for serious minded "triple threat" performers who are committed to working hard and delivering an amazing performance. Organizations from all over the world attend each year and present a 15 minute condensed version of a Broadway Jr. show under the license of Music Theatre International or Disney Musicals. The weekend festival includes the show presentation, workshops, guest speakers, awards, a dance party, and a ticket to a broadway-style performance. All of this is available for the organization presenting their show, the directors, and the parent chaperones.

What is expected of the kids and parents?

The JTF fee includes:
Competition performance at JTF in Atlanta
An official festival T-shirt
Adjudication and feedback
Performance workshops for students
Technical theater workshops for students and teachers
Broadway Junior Slam
Celebrity talk-back with special guests

The fee does not include:
Transportation
Meals
Lodging
Play On Players production fees

Parent Chaperones

Play On Players will not be providing transportation to or from the Junior Theater Festival. We need parent chaperones to come to the festival as well. It would be helpful if we had one parent per hotel room.

The students/parents will also need to pay the hotel fees for the hotel rooms. There is usually four people per room, but you could also request a more private hotel room.
